Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach movoc lanzhou noodle at (217) 607-1441; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 93 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded chinese restaurants in Champaign.

The noodles that we ordered at first was out of stock so we changed to another one. We’ve been waiting 40 minutes but nothing came out, we asked and they said they haven’t even make it. The services were like shit. Don’t understand why people say they’re good.

I could’ve tried any of the many malatang places in the area during my visit to UIUC, and I honestly only ended up with this one because it was closest to the place I was staying at, and not by much—many others were nearly the same distance, honestly. A little pricey, but that’s very much expected at a build your own malatang place. I actually like this format a lot more than a traditional hot pot place—the build-your-own station means if I’m coming here alone or with just one person, I can sample everything I want to try instead of having to choose a selected number of things on the menu to keep it to a reasonable amount of food. (That being said, it’s very easy to overload your plate here! My friend ended up with enough food for a couple days!) My tomato soup broth was flavorful and reheated very well.

Overall, it's okay. They have some selection of food and drinks you can try. The price is a little bit on the high side. The atmosphere is okay. However, the competitors on the same street are better though.

It was my first time trying Malatang, and I really enjoyed the experience. You can choose your ingredients and the amount you want from the pantry, and the price is based on the total weight. After that, you select how you’d like it cooked—such as soup or stir-fry—and choose your preferred spice level. The food is prepared instantly, making it fresh and flavorful. The food was very flavorful, and they also provide free rice with the soup, which is a nice addition.

Very good but I wish they had more options for vegetables and other food to choose from. It's a very new place though so hopefully they'll add more! I got the tomato base and it was delicious! The braised beef was may favorite add on.
